MAUI OCEAN CENTER:  Hawaii’s author/illustrator Gill McBarnet will read her  newest book “Hoku the Seal’s Three Wishes” in the HAWAIIANS AND THE SEA section of the aquarium, to be followed by an autograph session in the Ocean Treasure Gift Shop at Noon. In addition to a Monk Seal crafting session with a Maui Ocean Center naturalist!

  Whether you come dressed as a mermaid, sailor, pirate, clown fish, turtle, “whatever” – come join us again – and local author Gill McBarnet will read her “rascal” shark book:  The Shark Who Learned a Lesson. “Mama Mermaid” will be with us again, and we’ll have music and a DRESS-UP BOX, for those kids in the store who are not “dressed up”.

TURTLE TIME in Lahaina, Maui!

Come dressed as a turtle (if you want!) and get ready to “Talk Turtles” at  Barnes & Noble’s STORY TIME on Saturday the 6th of March in Lahaina.
Gill will start TURTLE TIME by reading one of her turtle books:  THE BRAVE LITTLE TURTLE – and after a discussion on Hawaii’s Green turtle, there will be turtle-themed activities for children, 2 (or younger!)  – 8 years of age.
Little ones:   bring your moms, dads, aunties or tutus.  Listen to the adventure of Nani and Lono the baby turtles, and learn about our gentle turtle friends who lay their eggs in Hawaii’s warm, sandy beaches.
          

Whale of a Time!! || Maui Ocean Center

We’ve had some amazing whale-sightings this year, and to celebrate our Humpback whale visitors:  Gill will be at Maui Ocean Center’s “Story Time” on Saturday the 27th February at 11.30 a.m. to read from her best selling first book THE WHALE WHO WANTED TO BE SMALL.  Coloring activity to follow, and an autograph session at the Ocean Treasures Gift Shop at noon.

Hawaii’s much loved children’s classic, The Goodnight Gecko – is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. Author / Illustrator Gill McBarnet will be at the ALA MOANA store on Saturday 5th December from 11:30 am – 12:30pm, to sign her commemorative books, with Anniversary foil stamp and sparkles in the moon and stars.

Goodnight Gecko || From the Page to the Stage

The GOODNIGHT GECKO “crew” will be interviewed by Bill Best on his Thanksgiving show for “Off the Record”:   AKAKU Radio, Channel 88.5 from 11 – Noon, Tuesday 24th November 2015.  The recording of the show will be re-played on Wednesday 26th, Thanksgiving Day, and Friday 27th November.
